A Court in Enugu on Thursday sentenced a woman to 90 years in jail for university admission fraud.
The woman, Chika Amsy Charles, was prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and was sentenced to three years imprisonment on each of the 30-count charge brought against her.

The sentences are to run concurrently from the date of her conviction.

For Bribing To Get Drivers License , Odion Ighalo May Be Jailed For 2 years

Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, faces a two-year jail term having been fingered in a bribery scandal while he was playing in Spain with Granada.

Spanish publication, Marca, reports that the provincial district attorney’s office of Granada has requested a two-year prison term and a fine of 3,000 Euros for Ighalo, his ex-Granada teammate, Diego Buonanotte, and 93 others for allegedly bribing their way to pass a driving test.

The Vatican Reviews Cremation, New instructions.

The Vatican on Tuesday published guidelines for Catholics who want to be cremated, saying their remains cannot be scattered, divvied up or kept at home but rather stored in a sacred, church-approved place.
The new instructions were released just in time for Halloween and "All Souls Day" on Nov. 2, when the faithful are supposed to pray for and remember the dead.

21 Suspected Terrorists Arrested in Borno


The Nigerian Army has arrested at least 21 suspected terrorists in some states of the north east as it continues Operation Lafiya Dole.
This was made known on Sunday by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Usman.

Lagos Land Transaction Slows Down to 30 percent


This is not the best of times for Lagos government as the nation’s economic recession has impacted negatively on the State’s Lands Bureau by slowing down land transactions to a record low of 30 per cent.
Last year, the state authorities slashed various rates applicable to land transactions from 13 per cent to three per cent.
For instance, consent fees was reduced from six per cent to 1.5 per cent while capital gains tax, previously two per cent , was reduced to 0.5 per cent.
