The Director of Fire Service, Mr. Rasak Fadipe, who paid the newly recruited officers an unscheduled visit at the Lagos State Fire Service Training School, Ikeja where they are undergoing six months intensive training, advised the recruits to bring to useful advantage their diverse experiences and knowledge to the betterment of the service.
Fadipe stated that the newly employed have joined a disciplined service which is sensitive to emerging challenges of the society and therefore urged them to be proactive and respond to essential and social service calls with dedication and expertise.
According to him, the training will prepare and expose them to the ethics and norms of the profession and urged them to take advantage of the programme to develop themselves in order to render quality service.
He further admonished them to adhere to fire safety cultures that should be respected always, such as morning drill, trimming of hair/beards and non-flagrant disobedience of established laws.
The recruits upon completion of the training will be assigned to various fire stations where they will be given the opportunity to further learn on the job from their superior officers.
