Earlier Tuesday morning, a Clinton campaign official told NBC News:
“We are feeling confident about the campaign we’ve run and our candidate’s message to the American people. Looking forward to seeing what today brings.”The mood was “jubilant on the flight home last night after an incredible day,” the official added.
It wasn’t immediately clear when Clinton’s opponent, Donald Trump, would cast his vote.
Vice President Biden cast his vote in Wilmington, Delaware, just after 8 a.m., wile President Barack Obama had not voted yet as of early Tuesday.
Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine said he feels “really comfortable” heading into Election Day.
Speaking to reporters Tuesday morning in his hometown of Richmond, Virginia, the senator said: “It’s kind of like we’ve done all we can do and now it’s in the hands of the voters, but we feel really comfortable about it.”
Kaine, who had cast his vote at the Hermitage Methodist Home, discussed how he and Hillary Clinton would potentially reach out to Trump supporters if they win. He stressed both his and Clinton’s records of reaching across the political aisle.
“We have to show that we want to govern for all, not just those who voted for us,” he added.
The senator said he’ll spend the day doing television interviews before “going to get breakfast with my buddies.”
Then Kaine will hang out with his wife and parents and perhaps go for a walk before heading back to New York for the election night watch party where he’ll “just be nervous for a while.”
