Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez could face a prison sentence and £900,000 fine for tax fraud accusation.
According to reports in Catalonia, Spain, Sanchez failed to pay income tax earnings of nearly £900,000 during his time at Barcelona.
The Chilean has been accused by the prosecuting counsel in the case, Miguel Angel Perez de Gregorio of using Numidia Trading, a company based in Malta which he owns 99% stake to receive payments for his image rights.
Sanchez allegedly did not declare any income from the image rights which totalled £531,325 in 2012 and £357,816 in 2013.
The 27-year-old will be the fifth player associated with Barcelona to be investigated by the Spanish authorities over tax fraud following the likes of Javier Mascherano, Samuel Eto’o, Lionel Messi and Adriano.
