Hulk Hogan Acquires $1.6 million bungalow (Photos)

Hulk Hogan may have Gawker to thank for his new beachfront pad.
The former pro wrestler plunked down $1.6 million on a bungalow in Florida with breathtaking ocean views just months after after winning a $140 million payout from his lawsuit against the gossip website, records revealed Monday.

The Hulkster, whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea, bought the four-bedroom, two-bathroom abode next to the mansion he already owns in Clearwater in August, the property records show.
The 2,000-square-foot cottage sits among “sparkling white beaches and turquoise Gulf waters” and boasts panoramic deck views of the beach, according to a Zillow.com listing for the property.
Hogan and his wife, Jennifer Bollea, bought the larger 5,000-square-foot, $3.3 million home next door in 2012.

Hogan sued Gawker the same year after it published a 1-minute-40-second video of him having sex with his best friend’s wife, Heather Cole.

A jury awarded Hogan $55 million in economic damages and $60 million for emotional distress in March. He also won $25 million in punitive damages.

Nick Denton, owner of the now-defunct gossip site, later filed for bankruptcy and has paid Hogan nothing — but he may be expecting to cash in soon.

The media company Univision bought Gawker at auction for $135 million in August.

Hogan’s larger home has an elevator, a pool, five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. They both sit near the Carlouel Yacht Club and the gated millionaire enclave Mandalay Point.

“Revel in the glorious sunsets from the beach front deck set among the sand dunes and sea oats. Or take in the panoramic beach view from the spacious great room which offers plenty of room for casual family gatherings,” the real estate listing for Hogan’s new bungalow gushes.

“Journey south on the island to the central business area for casual dining and additional beach activities. Make this your Gulf front getaway,” it proclaims.

Hogan previously owned a 17,000-square-foot, $6.2 million home five miles away, the Tampa Bay Times reported in 2012.

A spokesman for Denton declined to comment on Monday.
