FACT: Guardiola suffering worst run of his managerial career

The Catalan was without a win in five during his first season at Barcelona but his run at Manchester City is now six games after defeat at Old Trafford.

Pep Guardiola is suffering his worst run of results in his entire managerial career.

Manchester City’s run of six games without victory – the latest a derby defeat at Old Trafford in the EFL Cup – is now one game longer than his previous longest barren run.

The Catalan went five games without victory during his first season at Barcelona, a run of three draws and two defeats spanning February and March 2009.

Barca bounced back from that by winning seven games and claiming the treble at the end of the season.

City is still top of the Premier League table despite its poor recent run, but is now out of the EFL Cup and must win two of its remaining three Champions League group games, with Barcelona at home up next.
