Solange Knowles released one of the most listened to track of the year, the now famous funky mid-tempo “Losing You” in 2012.
Before that, the singer had
released two albums and had fallen out with the music industry to the point that we could have thought that she would never come back on the music scene.
On the contrary, Solo built up a label and a brand, Saint Heron, and set herself up as a fashion icon, charming an audience sensitive to her rebellious side and her ability to not be put in a box.
Solange has announced the release of her third studio album on the 28th of last month (September) after spending four years sharping her sense of style, her personality and her political engagement for the black community as much as for the R&B genre (which she wishes to give back its respectability). The album "A Seat At The Table" is now available and the track list is kind of awesome.
Rappers Lil Wayne and
Q-Tip are involved but also newcomers from the R&B/soul scene with Sampha, Kelela, Moses Sumney or BJ The Chicago Kids. The well-informed may have also noticed that singer Tweet was called to help with the harmonies : sounds great !

On her Twitter account, that she cleaned up to promote her album, the 30-year-old said she was “overwhelmed with gratitude and excitement to share this work“. We cannot wait to hear what she got for us !
